Probiotics promote the growth of good or 'friendly bacteria' and are antagonistic to disease-causing microorganisms. (They are unlike the better known and omnipresent antibiotics which kill both disease-causing and friendly bacteria.) Probiotics provide energy for our system by way of producing SCFA [Short Chain Fatty Acids] and synthesizing other vitamin and hormone precursors particularly vitamin B12. The most popular probiotic containing foods are yogurt and kefir. They contain live and active lactic-acid producing bacteria though generally not in amounts to make a difference to our health when it has been compromised by intractable conditions like candida albicans or irritable bowel syndrome [IBS]. When our gut bacteria is unbalanced due to high levels of stress and negative emotion, poor diet or excessive drug use, e.g. alcohol or antibiotics, etc. then the stage is set for all sorts of detrimental conditions to arise from diarrhea to Crohn's disease, from constipation to allergies and asthma. Strictly speaking there are no good or bad bacteria but rather (just like with our genes) we create the conditions in which given bacteria can flourish depending on our dietary lifestyle, sanitary practices and our emotional attitudes. Many nutrition experts have stated that you cannot have a preponderance of so-called bad bacteria in a clean and wholesome system. 'Friendly bacteria' with the right stomach pH acidity from hydrochloric acid [HCL] and from pancreas and bile excretions in the small intestines along with good peristalsis [intestinal muscular contractions] will keep the unwholesome bacteria in check. It's only when we create the conditions for decay by disrupting our pH, gumming up our digestion, exhausting our pancreas and inflaming our intestinal lining that we attract bacteria which encourage the development of chronic ailments. Introducing L. Salivarius and Friends As we return to a growth promoting lifestyle eating nutritious whole food while supplementing with probiotics, we create a new population of beneficial bacteria that keep our system running cleanly and efficiently. Yes, the right bacterium, especially L. Salivarius or L. Plantarum are known to 'eat up' the encrustations and gunk from the intestinal walls while priming or stimulating the immune system and allowing for the rapid spread of 'friendly bacteria'. This definitely will make us feel clean inside, encourage full and regular elimination and keep our immunity strong. When we've had a chronic condition affecting our digestion this may take some time to achieve because the bacterial profile we acquire in the first year of life can be very difficult to overcome. It's like a longtime habit but from my experience persistently using some of the latest probiotic formulations together with potent super foods can make this turnaround. Personally I've cleared a candida condition, [confirmed both by laboratory blood analysis and live blood analysis] with the use of L. Salivarius, enzymes, good nutrition and other healing practices, something thought to be impossible. People have discovered that some types of potent bacteria, for instance L. Salivarius [from the word saliva as in more natural times this healthy bacterium used to be passed along by way of chewed food from mother to infant] are excellent to take out of the capsule and chew or mix in a quarter glass of purified water and swish around the mouth thus helping reduce plaque and the chances of acquiring the flu. Through years of experience people have also found that taking L. Salivarius and other probiotic blends internally on an empty stomach or occasionally with food may help lessen the odds of getting food poisoning. Colonic specialists recommend probiotics after their treatments and L. Salivarius would be a great aid in accelerating and maintaining a clean well-functioning digestive tract all the way through. Supplementation with a 'friendly bacteria' formula helps to create a healthy symbiotic relationship between the bacteria and the cells of our intestinal and immune systems. Further providing nutritious and prebiotic [that stimulates the growth of healthy intestinal bacteria] food promotes the flourishing of 'friendly bacteria' that benefits our immunity and keeps our system going strong. This is the very best immune protection and is a worthwhile investment for vigorous health and longevity. Making healthy bacteria our friend by regularly taking a probiotic formula with an excellent track record is a very smart thing for they naturally recycle the end product of our digestion and work in many wondrous ways keeping us well by increasing our resistance to disease and resilience for life!
